Gary Neville can’t believe Manchester United winner against Newcastle United

Gary Neville couldn’t hide his excitement after Ashley Young scored a late winner in Manchester United’s 1-0 victory against Newcastle United on Wednesday night.

Man United fought hard at St James’ Park and had David de Gea to thank for keeping the score goalless after he kept out Ayoze Perez and Papiss Cisse with some fine saves.

At the other end, Marouane Fellaini and Wayne Rooney had efforts clawed away by Newcastle keeper Tim Krul.

The tension was clearly too much for Neville and he couldn’t help but express his delight on Twitter when Young netted what tuurned out to be the winning goal:

The overriding feeling for United fans’ was relief following the result and Neville’s tweet was a perfect embodiment of that.

United simply couldn’t afford to drop points against the Magpies given Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal all won. United take on Arsenal in the FA Cup quarter-finals on Monday before tough fixtures against Spurs and Liverpool at Old Trafford and Anfield respectively.
