Angelo Henriquez is open to the possibility of returning to Manchester United in the future but admits he was ‘crushed’ by how his career at the club has gone so far.
Having enjoyed FA Cup success on-loan at Wigan Athletic, Henriquez has some game experience under his belt but it wasn’t what he expected.
The 20-year-old has now spent the year on loan at Dinamo Zagreb and has gone on to make a strong impression with his goals.
As the Croatian club have a purchase option in their loan agreement, they were expected to sign the Chilean but Henriquez has now talked up reigniting his United career.
“I hope to return someday to Manchester United,” Henriquez said.
“I was crushed because I was so close to playing in the first team and then had to look from the outside. That was very frustrating.
“I came with all the expectations of playing in the Premier League and the FA Cup and nothing happened. I only played in the Under 21.”
Earlier this year, Henriquez said he looked forward to being part of Dinamo’s future but the Chilean now insists he wants to return to Man United.
It’s all up in their air right now as to whether Henriquez will commit his long term-future to the club or whether val Gaal decides is the right time, if ever, to leave the cub.
