Ander Herrera continues to impress Manchester United fans

Ander Herrera ended his first Old Trafford season in the fashion he deserved, a classy goal to put Manchester United ahead against Arsenal.

Whilst the goal only meant a point for the hosts in the end, Herrera’s overall performance showed just why fans have bigged him up all season, and many more top performances are yet to come.

Ashley Young‘s ball from the left fell nicely for the Spaniard, Herrera slotting him confidently at the near post to give United a much deserved lead.

For large parts, Herrera dominated the Arsenal midfield with precise touches, flicks and passing and was certainly the second best player on the pitch, behind Young.

Fans ran out of breath when it came to complaining that Herrera should be in the team as 2015 dawned, with Wayne Rooney preferred in the midfield role.

But an injury for Daley Blind back in the winter allowed Herrera to shine and he hasn’t looked back since. Undoubtedly the best of Van Gaal’s summer signings, supporters will be looking forward to more of the same come August.
