Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea has refused to give up any information regarding his long-term future at Old Trafford.
The saga has been running since the turn of the new year and it appears fans are no nearer to knowing who will be the club’s number one come August as they were back in January.
Spanish news outlet Deportes decided to fly reporters all the way from Spain in the hope of grabbing an exclusive with the Spanish international, as he arrived for an end of season meal with his teammates, who had just arrived back from Hull.
De Gea, who made his own way there after missing the game through injury, ensured it was a wasted journey for the journalists, simply giving them a curt ‘I can’t speak’, when asked about a move to Real Madrid.
Louis van Gaal has already confirmed his belief that he thinks De Gea will stay, but supporters have been rather less optimistic, believing De Gea won’t be able to resist the temptation of his home city and the biggest club in the world.
If De Gea has played his last game, it would be a shame for his Old Trafford career to have ended in injury, he would have become one of just four players to have played every minute of the Premier League season.
