There was a lot of expectation surrounding Angel Di Maria’s first Manchester United start since he was sent off against Arsenal in the FA Cup.
That red card turned out to be pivotal in Louis van Gaal finding a system that worked as he then guided United into the top four with impressive wins against Spurs, Liverpool and Man City.
But Di Maria’s return to the line-up didn’t go to plan. He was bright early on but a heavy knock followed a tweak to his hamstring meant he only lasted twenty minutes.
Whilst the majority of fans were sympathetic and disappointed, a few believe the Argentine simply isn’t tough enough for the Premier League.
Di Maria has already shown what he can do is the PL in his first month. Have a bit of patience with him. He will regain confidence.

It's really time to sent Di Maria away and give Depay the number 7 shirt. Di Maria can't deal with the physicality of the PL.

We've had like 70 injuries this season but Di Maria's injury means he can't be arsed, lol.

Di Maria looks like a kid I'd bully on the field to get him to play like a man

One thing for Di Maria is that, if he stays, it can only get better! #MUFC

There don’t seem to be any signs from within Old Trafford, especially from the manager, that there is any intention to sell their record signing this summer, especially given everybody knows about the talent the midfielder possesses.
However, this latest setback will surely put further doubts in Di Maria’s minds, whilst supporters can only hope he will re-group to come back and shine next season.
