Man United transfer news: Casillas is going nowhere, Benzema linked, Depay keen to get started

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Iker Casillas has made it very clear he will not be leaving Real Madrid this summer and intends to hold onto the no.1 spot.

“Next year, I see myself still stood between these posts; I have no plans to leave Madrid; I’m fine,” he said last night.

The Madrid shot-stopper also rubbished reports that Madrid want him to leave. Instead, he says the club want him to stay: “Contrary to the rumours doing the rounds, the club has told me that they want me to stay.”

Nicolas Otamendi 3

Fellow La Liga star Nicolas Otamendi has had some big developments with his future over the last few days. His agent came out to say the Argentinian centre-back will actively push for a transfer and has told the club. However, Valencia’s president called him a liar and slammed the statements. They want Otamendi had to come forward and hand in a transfer request for anything to happen.

There are likely to be complications with paying a release clause for Otamendi given what has happened previously with Spanish club transfers such as Ander Herrera and Javi Martinez.

Memphis Depay 10

Memphis Depay is very keen to get started quickly at Man United and has admitted Louis van Gaal is very important to him. The duo worked together at the World Cup with Holland and Van Gaal is most certainly a major reason why Depay chose to join United.

Javier Hernandez has now returned to the club after Madrid decided not to exercise a purchase clause in their loan deal. However, the Mexican’s return is expected to be short-lived because Van Gaal is almost certainly going to sell him immediately.
