Memphis Depay will play for the Netherlands tonight in their international friendly against USA and for many Manchester United fans, it will be the first time they have seen the winger live in action.
The 21-year-old played in PSV’s last two games of the season following the announcement of his move to Man United but not many fans would have watched either of games, so tonight’s match against USA will be when Depay can really show what he’s capable of.
He’ll be overflowing with confidence and self-assurance going into the game. He won the Eredivisie Golden Boot having finished on 22 goals on route to helping PSV to the title and earned himself a move to Man United. Why wouldn’t he be confident at the moment?
USA won’t be a walk in the park but fans are excited to see Depay’s tricky footwork, his pace on the wings and hopefully a goal or two given how prolific he was last season.
As well as Depay, Robin van Persie and Daley Blind will be in action for the Netherlands against USA. Elsewhere, Angelo Henriquez could be in action for Chile against Salvador.
Kick-off tonight between the Netherlands and USA is 7.30pm GMT. The game is being shown live on MUTV.
