Angelo Henriquez absent from Manchester United’s internationals round-up

The future of Angelo Henriquez at Manchester United is one where there has been lots of speculation and reports but very little official movement from the club.

At one stage, it seemed certain Henriquez would stay at Dinamo Zagreb but the 21-year-old insisted he wanted to get another chance at Man United.

Last night, Henriquez came off the bench for the last 15 minutes in Chile’s game against El Salvador but in United’s official round-up, there is no mention of Henriquez at all.

Did Man United simply not remember Henriquez was playing or is it a decision not to include him? Seeing as 20-year-old Pereira got a strong mention, it’s certainly strange they have overlooked Henriquez.

Those who followed Henriquez’s progress at Dinamo last season will know how prolific he was in front of goal and his call-up to the senior Chile squad is a richly deserved reward.

From United’s perspective, can Louis van Gaal afford to not give Henriquez a chance? The club is crying out for a top level goalscorer and while his goals in Croatia don’t prove or disprove that, it showed what is capable of.

Who knows? Henriquez may have already played his last game in a United shirt.
