Manchester United are ‘crazy’ about signing Lazio duo Stefan de Vrij and Felipe Anderson, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Both players were crucial in Lazio’s successful season in Serie A where they qualified for the Champions League and clubs are now being linked with moves for both of them.
Rumours linking Felipe Anderson to Man United began earlier this week when The Sun suggested a €30m deal could be on the cards.
As for De Vrij, he was linked to United last summer but instead moved to Lazio and it’s no surprise to see him linked once again after a strong season in Italy, so strong in fact that Di Marzio believes he was one of the best in Serie A last year.
Di Marzio says United want to sign both but Lazio are keen to hold onto their whole team as they are now in the Champions League.
De Vrij was solid at the World Cup under Louis van Gaal but so was Ron Vlaar, so there is only so much we can look into performances from that tournament given that it really is a one-off occasion but Memphis Depay‘s arrival shows that the Dutch influence is growing.
United certainly need at least one new centre-back this summer but is De Vrij the answer to United’s problems and is Anderson who will bring stability to midfield?
