Robert Firmino misses open goal against Colombia

Manchester United fans are eager to find out more about Hoffenheim midfielder Roberto Firmino following reports from Brazil which suggest he could be on his way to Old Trafford.

His agent has already confirmed he’ll be moving to the Premier League and with Manchester City, United and Liverpool all linked with him, there is plenty of interest building in Firmino.

So, fans watched him in action for Brazil against Colombia last night in the Copa America to see him in action but were left scratching their heads after one moment of madness.

Overall, Firmino had a quiet game, as did the whole Brazil squad in a poor 1-0 loss, but he had one huge opportunity. With the goal gaping and the goalkeeper scrambling, Firmino inexplicably fired over from a position which should have been a certain goal. United fans were understandably unimpressed:

Nobody will judge Firmino on missing just one shot but it really was an awful miss that he’ll be replaying in his head for days.

We’ve already talked to a Hoffenheim fan who gave us some great insight into Firmino on how he got on last season and why he had such a close bond with fans but his hot and cold performances at the Copa America are getting United fans wondering whether he is indeed the right sort of player to sign this summer.
