Thomas Muller is a Bayern Munich man through and through and it is hard to see him ever leaving the club despite reports suggesting that Manchester United have tabled a big money bid for him.
The 25-year-old is a superb player who is capable of playing in multiple positions and his signing would be a coup for Louis van Gaal if he pulled it off.
Bayern have just signed Douglas Costa from Shakhtar Donetsk but the Brazilian is see as long-term cover for Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery rather than a replacement for Muller.
We asked our Twitter followers whether or not they think there is any chance that Muller could leave the Bundesliga:

@peoplesperson_ Don't see it happening even with Douglas Costa moving there. They're looking long terms to replace Rob-Rib.

It’s safe to say that United fans aren’t holding out hope that a move for Muller will actually happen.
United must have had some indication that the player is willing to discuss a transfer or they wouldn’t have made an offer.
However, there doesn’t seem to be any logical reason for Muller to move to Old Trafford. United should always be targeting the best players in the world but they are a team firmly in transition. Bayern, on the other hand, are already a fantastic outfit.
