Here’s the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.
Thomas Muller was the subject of speculation on Wednesday as reports from Italy suggested that Man United had tabled a bid for him worth a total of €160m.
It is a lot of money and it would be a coup for United if they did pull the transfer off but it’s difficult to see Muller leaving. After all, he is a Bayern man through and through.
Elsewhere, a report from the Manchester Evening News claimed that Ashley Young will be handed a new contract at United. The Englishman was in superb form last season and any new deal will be richly deserved.
Young will be staying at Old Trafford next season but Nani will almost certainly not be there come August. The Portuguese winger has reportedly agreed personal terms with Fenerbahce ahead of a move.
Tom Cleverley has confirmed his switch to Everton while Radamel Falcao has apparently completed the formalities of a move to Chelsea.
Finally, there have been developments with a couple of defensive targets that van Gaal has had his eye on. Nathaniel Clyne has completed a move to Liverpool from Southampton and Real Madrid are said to be looking at Medhi Benatia as a replacement for Sergio Ramos, who is reportedly itching for a move to United.
