Manchester United have confirmed that Angelo Henriquez has returned to the club following a successful loan stint at Dinamo Zagreb.
After he scored 20 goals in just 25 appearances for Zagreb, Henriquez caught the eye of many Man United fans.
He has been included in the official squad list on United’s website and some supporters may feel he is ready for a shot at the first-team.
Henriquez is currently at the Copa America with his national team, Chile, but he has not been given the opportunity to shine by boss Jorge Sampaoli.
The 21-year-old definitely has a bright future. After impressing for Zagreb, Henriquez will be trying to force his way into Louis van Gaal‘s plans for next season.
The player moved to United from Universidad de Chile and is now looking to book himself a spot on the club’s pre-season tour to the United States of America.
United have been linked with moves for the likes of Thomas Muller and Edinson Cavani in recent weeks and it is clear that van Gaal is looking for a striker. If he doesn’t land his targets, perhaps he will turn to Henriquez next season.
Update: In what has become a highly confusing situation, it now looks like Henriquez has indeed left the club but there is yet to be an official announcement.
