Robin van Persie is expected to fly to Turkey on Sunday ahead of a ceremony on Monday where he will be unveiled as a Fenerbahce player.
The former Manchester United player is believed to have agreed a deal for three years with the club. United will receive £4.7m for the 31-year-old.
United signed the Dutch international for £24m back in 2012 before he set about winning the Premier League in that season almost single handedly. He was a pivotal part of that team’s success and went on to score 58 goals during 105 appearances for the club.
Van Persie was signed by Alex Ferguson, who retired the year after the Dutchman’s arrival and it appeared as though Van Persie never regained his sharpness once the former United manager retired.

Van Persie will join up with former Manchester United team-mate Nani, who joined the club on Monday following a successful spell at Sporting Lisbon last season.
Although Van Persie was never able to live up to the dizzy heights of his debut season at United in his following two years, he’ll leave behind fantastic memories and every United fan will wish him the best of luck at Fenerbahce in the next stage of his career.
