Manchester United announce Matteo Darmian signing

Manchester United have officially announced the signing of Matteo Darmian from Torino.

The 25-year-old becomes the third Man United signing this summer after Memphis Depay and Bastian Schweinsteiger and takes Louis van Gaal one step closer to the squad he wants for next season.

Darmian is delighted to have completed the move which is a ‘dream come true’ for him and it strengthens United’s squad in a key position, so it’s great news all around.

It was only last week when the Darmian reports started to emerge from Italy but United held some excellent negotiations and managed to push the deal through both quickly and seamlessly.

Here’s a picture gallery of Darmian being unveiled as a United player:

Antonio Valencia played at right-back last season following injuries to Rafael and the fact he was out of favour with Van Gaal, so the position was considered a big weak point in the United squad.

Now that Van Gaal has addressed that, he’ll be confident about pushing forward next season in order to compete with all trophies and he looks like a very astute signing.
