Dean Henderson signs new Manchester United contract

Dean Henderson has become the latest in a string of youngsters to sign a new contract with Manchester United.

The 18-year-old goalkeeper currently plays for Paul McGuinness’ U18s side and is over the moon to have committed his long-term future to the club.

Following in the footsteps of Timothy Fosu-Mensah, RoShaun Williams, Callum Gribbin and lots of others, Henderson signing a contract is indicative of how happy he is at Man United.

Henderson posted a photo of him signing his contract alongside a smiling Ryan Giggs:

This year, Henderson will be doing his utmost to cement himself as United’s No.1 with the U18s under McGuinness but he’ll face stiff competition in the squad.

With youngsters at 18, it is far too early to judge whether they are set for long-term success at United, especially a goalkeeper as it is a position where players usually blossom later in their careers but we’ll be following his progress to see how he gets on.

Congratulations Dean and good luck this season.
