David de Gea is reportedly not ruling out a potential contract extension with Manchester United following his failed transfer to Real Madrid.
The Spaniard’s future at Old Trafford has been up in the air after his proposed move to Madrid fell through late on Monday night.
Despite his evident desire to be elsewhere, De Gea remains a Man United player; but given his tattered relationship with Louis van Gaal, it’s hard to say how often we’ll see the 24-year-old between the sticks this season.
Regardless, the goalkeeper is apparently confident of signing a new contract with United and committing his short-term future to the club.

One would be sceptical that De Gea would sign a new contract but the saga has had so many twists and turns that you can’t rule anything out.
It is clear that the keeper wants a return to Spain but a new deal would enable United to get a much better deal for him. Whether the club can convince him to sign it remains to be seen.
