Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has received support from all over the sporting world after suffering a horrible double leg break against PSV Eindhoven on Tuesday night.
Man United went on to lose the game 2-1 but the occasion was overshadowed by Shaw’s injury.
The youngster was stretchered off with less than 25 minutes on the clock after being on the wrong end of a crunching tackle from Hector Moreno. There was instant concern as, from very early on, it seemed as though the left-back was in trouble.
After the club confirmed that the defender had sustained a double fracture in his right leg, athletes from all sports took to Twitter to offer their messages of support for the United man:
Hope @Lukeshaw23 makes a full and speedy recovery…hate seeing young athletes getting injured like that?

Shaw has received messages from all over the world and has already vowed to come back stronger after his injury. United fans will be hoping that their defender can bounce back as quickly as possible.
The rest of the team will now need to try and put Shaw’s misfortune to the back of their minds. Louis van Gaal’s side travel to Southampton in the Premier League on Sunday and will hope to turn their luck around after an unfortunate defeat to PSV.
