Hector Moreno apologises to Luke Shaw and sends him his well wishes

Hector Moreno has sent his own message of support to Luke Shaw following his horrific double leg break injury on Tuesday.

The Mexican defender lunged in with a wild challenge that left Shaw with a double leg fracture which is going to keep him out for at least six months.

Having suffered a bad leg break himself during the 2014 World Cup with Mexico, Moreno knows all about this type of injury.

He apologised to Shaw and wished him all the best in his recovery:

It’s a nice (but expected) touch from Moreno to send his well wishes but if he trying to be empathetic, he’s got to question why on earth he ever went into the tackle that strongly, knowing full well what it’s like to be on the other side of a bad challenge like that.

Regardless of whether malice, intent or just a badly timed challenge was to blame, United fans are going to feel extremely deflated for a long time by Shaw’s injury because he had shown such promise in the early stages of this season.
