Manchester United are considering a surprise move for Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez and could make a move for him in the winter transfer window, according to the Telegraph.
Man United have received several positive reports from scouts who have watched Perez play this season.
Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal are also said to be in for the 22-year-old but United are said to be the most interested in his signature.
Newcastle’s lowly position in the Premier League and their desire to strengthen in January means United would have to pay a premium if they wanted to sign Perez mid-season.
The player himself, who can play in a variety of attacking positions, would jump at the opportunity to join United.
Louis van Gaal has often stated that he wants to inject “speed and creativity” into his attack and Perez would certainly provide that. However, there is a question mark over whether the forward can consistently produce at the highest level. Time will tell whether or not United go in for him in January.
