Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba and Patrice Evra embraced before kick-off and had a quick chat ahead of England’s friendly with France at Wembley.
The trio have all spent varying lengths of time at Manchester United, none more so than Evra of course, but it’s an image which is filled with plenty of different emotions.

With Evra, you’ve got a Man United legend who spent years at the club, won the Premier League copious times and earned himself a UEFA Champions League medal as well.
On the other hand, you’ve got two players – Lingard and Pogba – who won the 2011 FA Youth Cup with United but have since gone on very different career paths.
While Pogba decided United wasn’t the right place for him, Lingard has worked himself into the senior team and both players are now lining up alongside each other in their respective international squads. If anything, it’s a testament to the quality of United’s youth academy and the players it produces.
I wonder if Pogba told Lingard the story about when Sir Alex Ferguson disrespected him?
