Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas will miss the game against Manchester United having not travelled with the squad.
The Telegraph confirmed his absence from the squad and it looks like Guus Hiddink will be having plenty of selection problems at Old Trafford.
As well as Fabregas missing from the squad, Diego Costa is suspended and there are questions over the fitness of Eden Hazard.
Fabregas has been so out of form all season, much like the rest of the Chelsea squad, but it’s still a boost for United that he is unavailable for selection because he’s one of those players who are capable of turning a game on a six-pence with one moment of magic.
Without him in the team, Chelsea will have to replace his qualities and although their squad does have real strength in depth, Fabregas being out is a bonus for Man United.
As for the injury front, United have had their fair share of injuries this season and with both left-backs out due to long-term injuries, as well as other injuries around the squad, our situation is far from perfect.
We come into the Chelsea game with Jones just back from injury, potentially Darmian too, Schweinsteiger just returning from suspension and Schneiderlin coming back in after being left on the bench. So, there’s going to be plenty of changes all round but hopefully that works in United’s favour overall.
