The Frenchman started on the left wing and constantly caused problems for Branislav Ivanovic, who was playing at right-back for Chelsea. Within the first 20 minutes, Martial beat his man, cut inside, and smacked a shot against the inside of the post, with Thibaut Courtois well beaten. It was rotten luck for the youngster, who was always a threat going forward.
It was an improved performance from Man United, who played at a much higher tempo, particularly in the first half. Martial was a big part of the reason Louis van Gaal‘s men looked so threatening and he seemed like the man to make things happen for United. Fans were delighted with what they saw from the 20-year-old.
Martial is too good for this team sometimes

Love Martial on the wing.

May be in the minority but I'll say it again: I prefer Martial out wide. For me, does more damage there than down the middle.

Even the biggest United hater knows Martial is a fantastic footballer.

Martial is spreading Ivanovic like butter on toast so far.

Since signing from Monaco on transfer deadline day, Martial has been one of the few positives that United have been able to take away from the first half of the season. His displays, whether they have been on the wing or through the middle, have always brought supporters to the edge of their seats, something the rest of the team have struggled to do this campaign.
Martial always seems to be growing into his role in the team and has quickly made himself an integral part of the squad. Despite the struggles for the Reds recently, the youngster has proved time and time again just how important he can be for the rest of the season and also for the club in the future.
