The odds of Edinson Cavani joining Manchester United have been slashed amid reports that the striker is unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain.
Bookmakers BetVictor have moved the odds from 10/1 to 2/1. Cavani is said to be unhappy with being continually played on the left wing by PSG boss Laurent Blanc.
Earlier this month, Blanc admitted that Cavani, who has scored 10 goals in 17 Ligue 1 appearances this term, could leave the French champions if he continued to air his frustrations.
Man United have struggled for goals for the majority of the campaign, although Wayne Rooney has hit form in recent weeks.
Cavani wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world as he has consistently scored goals at a high level but United fans will remember all too well that we’ve long been linked with the Uruguayan and nothing has materialised thus far.
It will be interesting to see how the situation develops and whether or not United make a move as they look to consolidate a place in the top four of the Premier League. Would Cavani guarantee a Champions League spot? Far from it but he’d certainly improve our options in attack.
