Former Real Madrid president Ramon Calderon believes both Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale could leave the Bernabeu this summer.
Prior to Madrid being hit with a transfer ban earlier this month, both Bale and Ronaldo were said to be flirting with moves away from the club.
Manchester United were reportedly readying a big-money bid for Bale while they are also said to be interested in bringing back Ronaldo to Old Trafford.
“I get the impression that everything is possible for Ronaldo and Bale,” Calderon said.
“Both players have said nothing about what they will do at the end of this season, and that is because they want to wait and see what is happening at Real Madrid.
“The top players in the world always have the option to move to Manchester City or United, to Paris Saint-Germain, to Bayern Munich, maybe Chelsea as well. These are the only clubs that could sign Ronaldo or Bale.
“United, clearly, are interested in signing both players and while it would be hard to do a deal to sign Ronaldo and Bale in the same summer, it is very possible that one could move to Manchester United. Of course this is possible.”
It had looked like both players were leaning towards a move away from the club but the transfer ban that Madrid have been hit with has changed the outlook when it comes to their respective futures.
That being said, Madrid are planning on appealing against the decision and the ban may be delayed until after the summer transfer window. If they sign a suitable replacement for Bale or Ronaldo, then perhaps they will be willing to let one or both of them leave.
