Real Madrid president Florentino Perez rules out Cristiano Ronaldo exit

Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has insisted that Cristiano Ronaldo will not leave the Spanish club.

Ronaldo is said to be open to a move away from Madrid, with Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain interested in the Portuguese forward.

However, Perez insisted Ronaldo is the best player in the world and that he is not entertaining thoughts of his exit.

“Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player in the world and he is the leader of Real Madrid,” Perez said.

“It’s normal that other clubs dream of having him. He is Di Stefano’s heir and he is very happy here, so he is not going to leave Real Madrid. He is the best player in the world and he has to keep playing for the best team in the world.”

Perez’s comments would appear to put an end to the rumours but his words have proven to be hollow before.

Just recently, Perez offered his support to Rafael Benitez before firing and replacing him with Zinedine Zidane. Ronaldo, who has scored 340 goals in 327 matches for Madrid, is yet to categorically rule out a move away from the club and Man United will take heart from that. However, if they are to go in for Ronaldo, it will likely take a huge bid to prise him away from the Bernabeu.
