West Ham United join race for Southampton’s Sadio Mane – report

West Ham United have joined the race to sign Southampton forward Sadio Mane, according to the Daily Star.

Mane’s future at St Mary’s is the subject of speculation and, while he is expected to remain at Southampton this month, he could move on in the summer.

Manchester United and Chelsea were said to be keen on Mane but West Ham have now thrown their hat in the ring for his signature.

The Hammers are ready to spend big in the summer as they prepare for their first season at the Olympic Stadium.

Slaven Bilic’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League, one point and one place behind Man United.

Louis van Gaal is clearly in the hunt for a forward with pace, with Lazio’s Felipe Anderson also linked with a move to Old Trafford. It remains to be seen if United will firm up their interest in Mane in the summer.
