With Matteo Darmian and Guillermo Varela injured, Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal will likely turn to Donald Love once again for the trip to face FC Midtjylland in the Europa League on Thursday.
Love replaced Darmian in the 2-1 defeat against Sunderland last time out after the Italian dislocated his shoulder in the first half at the Stadium of Light.
As has been the case for the large majority of this season, it will give United’s back-line a makeshift look about it against Midtjylland:
It is unlikely that United will finish in the top four of the Premier League following the defeat against Sunderland and they will view the Europa League as their last chance of Champions League football next term.
Midtjylland are a relatively unknown outfit but they will have nothing to lose against van Gaal’s side and will be dangerous as a result.
United are fading into mediocrity and they cannot afford any more slip-ups if they are to make a success of their campaign.
