Manchester United news round-up including Mourinho, Pereira and Schweinsteiger

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

David Beckham has urged Jose Mourinho to return to the Premier League as soon as possible. Mourinho has been out of management since he was fired by Chelsea in December after a disappointing start to the season. He insists he wants to see the Portuguese boss back in England soon.

Andreas Pereira has admitted that he is “hungry” for more game time following Man United’s 3-0 win over Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on Monday. The Brazilian has struggled for first team appearances this term as Louis van Gaal has been reluctant to drop the likes of Juan Mata and Ander Herrera.

German national team coach Oliver Bierhoff believes van Gaal‘s treatment of Bastian Schweinsteiger at Man United is unfortunate. The Dutch manager suggested in December the 31-year-old has not been at the level he showed in Bayern Munich and that he could have performed better in each game he’s played.

Shrewsbury Town manager Micky Mellon has hailed the quality of Man United players at the Greenhous Meadow. The Shrews failed to put the pressure on Man United despite being reduced to ten men for the final 15 minutes after Will Keane was left on the sidelines with a groin injury.
