Marcus Rashford added to Manchester United squad for FC Midtjylland

Marcus Rashford has been added to Manchester United’s Europa League squad ahead of Thursday’s game against FC Midtjylland.

The 18-year-old is eligible for Man United’s B-squad as he has been at the club for more than two years and meets the age guidelines, meaning he could be added to the squad so long as there was at least 24 hours before kick-off.

With Wayne Rooney and Will Keane both injured, Louis van Gaal turned to Rashford because he had no other option but that doesn’t take away from the fact that Marcus is an excellent talent.

Having been excellent for the U19s in the UEFA Youth League group stages, despite United getting knocked out, Rashford has had a slight taste of what it is like to play European football but tonight’s match will be his first involvement in a senior match day experience.

Hopefully United can get the job done against FC Midtjylland without having to turn to an 18-year-old striker but he has been put in the squad because van Gaal has belief in his ability in front of goal, which should give Rashford a mental boost without having made his debut yet.
