Andreas Pereira called up to Brazil U23s Olympic squad

Andreas Pereira has been called up for the Brazilian U23s Olympic squad for upcoming friendlies against South Africa and Nigeria in March.

Pereira, 20, is in the squad alongside such established midfielders as Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara and Lazio’s Felipe Anderson.

This will be massive news for Pereira because he’s always made it clear how honoured he is to play for Brazil and it’s the next step towards earning a coveted place in Brazil’s senior national team squad.

For United, it means we’ll be without Pereira for the end of March but it’s a good move for Andreas’ career so we’re happy for him.
