BBC pundits Martin Keown and Danny Mills have hailed Marcus Rashford following his superb goal in Manchester United’s 2-1 win over West Ham United in the FA Cup on Wednesday.
Rashford enjoyed an excellent evening’s work at Upton Park capped by a remarkable strike.
Picking up the ball from Anthony Martial, Rashford took three touches, worked a yard of space against his opponent and curled an unstoppable effort past Darren Randolph and into the net.
Commentating on Rashford’s goal for the BBC, Keown said: “That’s just ruthless finishing.
“This fella is going to be something special. The composure that he has. He stands up Tomkins and knows what he wants to do. Pick that one out.”
Fellow BBC pundit Danny Mills added: “That is a goal Marcus Rashford will want to see time and time again.
“It’s the first bit of real quality in the final third. What a fabulous strike. He bends it gloriously into the top corner.”
Rashford will face competition from the fit-again Wayne Rooney in the coming weeks but it would be hard to drop the 18-year-old on current form.
The youngster has now scored six goals for Man United since his debut for the club in February, which is an excellent return given the side’s troubles going forward this term. Rashford really does look special.
