Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas has described Marcus Rashford as “on fire” as the Manchester United striker continues his rise to prominence this season.
Rashford, 18, has scored seven goals for Man United since his debut for the club in February.
His latest strike came against Aston Villa at Old Trafford on Saturday as United secured a 1-0 victory. Former Arsenal and Barcelona midfielder Fabregas praised Rashford while speaking on Sky Sports’ Monday Night Football.
“He’s on fire at the moment. I really like the kid,” Fabregas said.
“I’ve watched him play a few times now since he’s come through and I really like his intelligence, his desire to be in the box, his movement and how he loses his defender. Also in his open play he’s been very very good.”
Rashford plays with an intelligence which belies his age and his maturity is remarkable given his age and relative inexperience.
United seem to have unearthed a real talent and Louis van Gaal deserves credit for placing his faith in the youngster. Rashford will be looking to get on the scoresheet once again when United take on Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Wednesday.
