Manchester United sent scouts to watch Anderlecht duo Leander Dendoncker and Youri Tielemans last week, according to reports.
Tielemans, 18, is considered to be one of Belgium’s brightest young talents having established himself in the first-team at Anderlecht despite his tender age and there are plenty of other interested in him including Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Liverpool.
Meanwhile, 21-year-old Dendoncker has been a regular for Anderlecht over the course of the campaign at right-back. Man United representatives were in attendance to watch the duo play in Anderlecht’s 1-1 draw against Gent last week.
United seem to be focused on building a team for the future as widespread recent reports have claimed that the club are set to sign 18-year-old Renato Sanches from Benfica and our interest in Belgian youngsters doesn’t lie with Tielemans and Dendoncker.
Adnan Januzaj joined us from Anderlecht and Andreas Pereira was born in Belgium, so two of our best youth prospects have actually come from Belgium in recent years and maybe these two will follow suit.
As well as those, 16-year-old defender Keith Groeneveld is on trial at Carrington this week and will be eager to earn a move to Old Trafford, so there are Belgians everywhere.
I’d love to see us sign Tielemans because he’s an extremely exciting prospect but with so many other clubs interested in him, it’s going to be a tug-of-war for United.
