Manchester United news round-up including Mourinho, Sanches and Rodriguez

Here is the latest Manchester United transfer news and gossip.

Jose Mourinho is ‘close’ to replacing Louis van Gaal as manager of Manchester United, according to Marca. The Portuguese boss was sacked by Chelsea earlier this term and has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford for several months.

Colombia icon Carlos Valderrama believes that Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane “does not like” James Rodriguez. He joined Madrid in 2014 for £60m following some sparkling displays for Colombia at the World Cup and the forward enjoyed a promising debut campaign under Carlo Ancelotti.

Benfica president Luís Filipe Vieira has allegedly been in Manchester this week in an attempt to finalise Renato Sanches’ move to Man United. Vieira, along with Sanches’ representative, Jorge Mendes, reportedly met with United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward recently to discuss the move.

Robert Lewandowski has suggested he could leave Bayern Munich to play in the Premier League someday. He has been linked with a move away from Bayern over the course of the campaign and has not ruled out moving to England.
