Real Madrid forward Lucas Vazquez has urged the Spanish side to re-sign Juventus forward and rumoured Manchester United target Alvaro Morata.
Madrid sold Morata to Juventus in 2014 but they included a £23m buy-back clause in his contract which would allow them to re-sign the player in the summer.
However, there has reportedly been plenty of interest in Morata, with the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal all said to be interested. Madrid have a wealth of attacking options at their disposal but Vazquez believes that the club should go back in for Morata.
“Hopefully Madrid re-sign Morata. He’s had two exceedingly good years and if that’s what the club decides it’ll be good for everyone,” Vazquez said.
Morata is young, talented and Spanish and he would seem to fit an ideal profile as far as Madrid are concerned.
£23m would be relatively cheap for a player of Morata’s talents but Madrid may decide that their current line-up, which includes Karim Benzema, Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo, may be enough.
In any case, Morata will be focused on doing well for Spain at the European Championships. It is likely that speculation over his future will intensify once the competition ends.
