Manchester United youngster Timothy Fosu-Mensah has signed a new sponsorship deal with Nike.
Fosu-Mensah, 18, has enjoyed a rise to prominence at Man United in recent months following a breakthrough campaign under Louis van Gaal during the 2015/16 season.
There are hopes from supporters that the Dutchman will soon follow in the footsteps of Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Marcus Rashford by signing a new long-term contract at Old Trafford but, for now, Fosu-Mensah is busy securing sponsorship:
On the face of it, Fosu-Mensah has all the attributes needed to succeed at the highest level.
The youngster is quick, strong and he plays with a confidence and intelligence which belies his years. Fosu-Mensah only made a handful of appearances last season but he often outshone his more experienced teammates.
Hopefully, it is only a matter of time until Fosu-Mensah commits his future to United. Jose Mourinho will be fully aware of the importance of nurturing youth at Old Trafford and it is likely that Fosu-Mensah will continue to feature next term. Van Gaal got plenty wrong during his time at United but he deserves credit for bringing through youngsters like Fosu-Mensah.
