Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta confirms no offers for Paul Pogba have been received

Juventus sporting director Beppe Marotta insists the club have not received any offers for Paul Pogba this summer.

The 23-year-old has been in incredible form and attracted interest from Europe’s biggest clubs, with Real Madrid allegedly leading the race for his signature.

He is contracted to the Turin club until 2019 and reports suggested Juventus would sell their prized asset as his brilliant showings in Euro 2016 would significantly raise his valuation.

Speaking about his future, Marotta makes it clear Pogba is a fundamental player and is key to the future of the club.

“As for Pogba, we have not received any offers,” he said.

“He is a fundamental and indispensable player for the present and future of Juventus.”

Marotta has been quick to dismiss any interest in Pogba which isn’t a surprise as just 24 hours ago Spanish newspaper Marca claimed the 23-year-old could leave the club this summer if their valuation was matched.

Pogba won the FA Youth Cup with Manchester United in 2011 but only made seven substitute appearances before he joined Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 as he eventually left after he grew frustrated at a lack of first-team opportunities under Sir Alex Ferguson.

He is now one of the hottest young talents in Europe with 178 appearances for Juventus but could Jose Mourinho persuade him back to Old Trafford? While luring him away from Juventus would clearly be tough, money talks and that was what took Pogba away from United in the first place. It would be expensive but there aren’t many better midfielders than Pogba in the game right now.
