Mino Raiola: Manchester United must break transfer record if they want Paul Pogba

Paul Pogba’s agent, Mino Raiola, has claimed that Manchester United or Real Madrid should expect to break the world transfer record if they want to secure the midfielder’s services.

Pogba has been strongly linked with a move away from Juventus this summer, with Man United and Real Madrid said to be among those interested.

A €120m fee has been touted and Raiola insisted that Pogba is worth that amount in the current market.

“If I think about the amount players are going for, say, €40m for [Michy] Batshuayi, then Paul is underrated,” he said.

“Pogba is worth the maximum amount that any of the clubs who want him can pay for him.”

It is an eye-watering figure and one that may put United off, particularly as Pogba was once on the club’s books. Unfortunately for them, he left for Juventus on a free transfer in 2012 after a disagreement with Sir Alex Ferguson.

Pogba is a world-class talent and, at 23, he will only get better. He would inject a huge amount of quality into Jose Mourinho’s squad but United may well decide that the money could be better spent elsewhere.

United are said to be in negotiations with another one of Raiola’s other clients, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, having already secured the services of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this week.
