Daley Blind: I’m ready for next season at Manchester United

Manchester United defender Daley Blind has declared that he is ready for the upcoming season at Old Trafford amid rumours that Jose Mourinho is considering selling him.

New Man United boss Mourinho has reportedly deemed Blind surplus to requirements as he does not suit the necessary physical profile in terms of height, pace and stature.

There has been speculation that Blind will be let go as a result but the Dutchman insisted that he is focused on the coming campaign in a recent post on his Instagram profile:

Blind performed admirably at centre-back during the 2015/16 season but it was clear for all to see that he is a not a natural defender.

All too often, Blind made a mistake only for the superb David de Gea to bail him out of trouble.

Mourinho has already brought in Eric Bailly from Villarreal and the likes of Raphael Varane are also said to be on his radar. Blind is a useful squad player but he may have to accept that his role next season may be limited.
