Bojan Djordjic: Zlatan Ibrahimovic will help Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial develop

Former Manchester United winger Bojan Djordjic believes Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s arrival will positively effect young forwards at the club like Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial.

The Swede confirmed his move to Old Trafford on his social media on Thursday afternoon and will become Jose Mourinho’s second signing at Man United following Eric Bailly’s arrival last month, with a deal for Henrikh Mkhitaryan also close to completion.

He scored over 50 goals last season across all competitions for Paris Saint-Germain and has won 12 league titles in his last 13 years as a player.

Speaking about his transfer, Djordjic insists Ibrahimovic will be a father figure to Rashford and Martial up front.

“A big name [like Ibrahimovic] has been missing in the historically famous Manchester United.”

“He has the experience and authority, and will be gold for Rashford and Martial.

“They will be able to look up to him, rather than carrying Manchester United, as they had to last season.”

Ibrahimovic is one of the best goal scorers in the world, he’s one of the biggest names in football and Mourinho has done extremely well to sign him on a free transfer.

He had plenty of offers when he left PSG but the opportunity to work with Mourinho once again has brought him to Old Trafford, he played under the Portuguese boss at Inter Milan in 2008-09, helping them win the Serie A title.

Man United have found the perfect combination with Mourinho and Zlatan to rival Pep Guardiola at Manchester City and I can’t wait to see him in action.
