Paul Pogba and Anthony Martial were all smiles together in France training on Wednesday night ahead of their Euro 2016 semi-final showdown with Germany.
Reports over the last 24 hours suggest Manchester United have opened negotiations with Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola over a potential €120m move this summer, with Gianluca di Marzio saying that personal terms have already been agreed worth €13m per season.
Could two of France’s, and the world’s, best talents be team-mates next season at Man United as well as compatriots? Maybe that’s what they were talking about when they were all smiles together in training with each other.
I cannot think of a player I would like United to sign more than Pogba this summer. Yes you could argue the likes of Antoine Griezmann and Gareth Bale would be wonderful signings but after the arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan, there are problem areas in our squad which require more attention – such as central midfield.
Dropping Pogba into this team under Jose Mourinho could be the final part of the jigsaw, the part which brings it all together like glue, and although there will be plenty who laugh at United for spending so much money on a player they lost for free, I’d much rather they spent that money on Pogba than let it collect interest for the Glazers to spend.
