Jose Mourinho is ‘obsessed’ with the idea of bringing Paul Pogba back to Manchester United and is willing to do just about anything to make it happen, reports Marca in Spain.
The French midfielder has emerged as the leading candidate to be the first £100 million player and further reports during the week had suggested that Ed Woodward was already in discussions with Mina Raiola over a move to Old Trafford.
While he has not informed Juventus he wants to leave, there has been some speculation that the 23-year-old wants a move to a different league in order to challenge himself and further his development.
He left Man United when he was 19 when he did not think the game time he was getting was adequate and some have suggested that the Frenchman feels as though he has unfinished business at the club.
Mourinho is many things to many people but one thing you can not take away from him is that his direct, no-nonsense approach has yielded incredible results wherever his managerial career has taken him.
Reports suggesting that he has become ‘obsessed’ with signing the player means a couple of things. Ed Woodward and United’s board will be aware of how strongly Mourinho feels about the player, the player will feel wanted and perhaps opt to move to a club with a manager who needs him at the club and the fans will appreciate the manner in which their new coach is chasing his targets.
If Pogba decides to stay in Italy or opts to move to Madrid, at least Mourinho is doing everything in his power to make Pogba consider the thought of Manchester as his next destination.
