Guillem Balague: Real Madrid fear Manchester United sign Paul Pogba

Real Madrid remain in the hunt for Paul Pogba and are afraid Manchester United will outbid them for the French midfielder, according to Guillem Balague.

The 23-year-old drove France on to a win over Germany last and Man United are reportedly interested in making him the the world’s first £100 million player.

While reports suggest Man United have started negotiations, there is still a fear Madrid are looking to make Pogba their latest signing.

“He has had conversations with Zinedine Zidane and he wants to play for Zidane,” he told Sky Sports.

“The problem is Real Madrid feel the kind of money that Manchester United is willing to pay for him is crazy and they cannot match it.”

“He might not get his wish because Real Madrid has let Mino Raiola know that they are not willing to match the valuation Juventus and him have determined of the player.

“We will have to wait a while to see how this pans out but one thing is certain, both Real Madrid and Manchester United want the player.”

Most of the other top teams in the world have ruled themselves out of the running for the Juventus player with Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all displaying a passing interest considering the high fee the Italian club allegedly want for him.

Jose Mourinho is working fast to create a squad to his liking and has already signed three players in areas of the field he believes needed strengthening at Old Trafford.

Central midfield has been a problem for United ever since Paul Scholes retired and in Paul Pogba, many believe you have a player who can do what Scholes did and more. His energy and attacking verve have him pegged as the next dominating central midfielder in world football.

Madrid have strong depth in central midfield with Luka Modric and Toni Kroos but if Florentino Perez thinks he can bring in a Galactico at a price they can afford, he will make it happen and United have to be careful of that.
