The Italian signed a four year deal with Man United last summer, but looks like he could be on the way out after falling further down Jose Mourinho’s pecking order.
Sky Sports have also claimed Roma have recently joined the race to also try and sign Darmian this summer.
A move could depend on whether Mourinho would want to sell another defender and thin his squad before entering a demanding campaign in the Premier League and Europa League.
After one season in the Premier League he’s endured quite a stop-start campaign, when he arrived at Old Trafford he was in top form and you couldn’t fault his game at all, but after the season continued he wasn’t able to keep up the impressive performances.
He also picked up an injury against Southampton, which saw him sidelined for the majority of games, but when he returned against Tottenham Hotpsur, he replaced Timothy Fosu-Mensah, who had been holding the game together and resulted in three goals being conceded in quick succession.
Should his time at Old Trafford come to an end this summer, Darmian will be disappointed he wasn’t able to make a mark on the club during his time in Manchester as he clearly possesses the talent.
