Jose Mourinho hailed Paul Pogba after he made his return to Manchester United in the 2-0 victory over Southampton.
He finalised his £89 million move to Man United and fans were disappointed to see him suspended last week for the 3-1 Bournemouth victory but it was brilliant to see him make his long-awaited return.
Pogba put in a dominating performance from the midfield and managed to make a total of 11 take-ons throughout the entire game.
Speaking about Pogba, Mourinho claims the Frenchman tried very hard and could have even played for longer.
“He could play extra-time! He was phenomenal and surrounded by organisation, by vision for the game,” he said.
“I’m so happy with the organisation of the team. Everything that was individual was superb and the things related to the team he [Pogba] tried very hard to do.
“When I was thinking he was losing consistency and possession, was when I brought Ander Herrera on to close the defensive door.”
Jose Mourinho has done extremely well to get his business done in the transfer market early this summer.
He has plugged major gaps on the side and his new arrivals have taken his team from title contenders to favourites to lift the trophy.
It’s an exciting time for fans and there’s no doubt Mourinho is the right man to take the club forward.
