Everton midfielder Ross Barkley insists Paul Pogba will prove to be a success for Manchester United this season.
The Frenchman arrived at Old Trafford earlier this month after finalising his world-record £89 million transfer from Juventus.
He has made two appearances for Jose Mourinho’s side already and has showcased why Man United paid his staggering price tag.
Speaking about his impact, Barkley claims Pogba will have no problem adapting to life in the Premier League.
“He’s not going to score the goals that Messi and Ronaldo score but Pogba gets fans on the edge of their seats,” he told The Times.
“He breaks play up, very skilful, a big powerful lad. He’s going to be a good player in the Premier League.”
Pogba has played well for United so far this season and injects the quality we have missed from the centre of the park since Paul Scholes retired.
The Frenchman has linked up well with Mourinho’s new signings and represents the Portuguese manager’s new era at Old Trafford.
He left as a youngster with plenty of potential, but returns as one of the best midfielders in the world and will be a key figure in helping the club reclaim the Premier League title from Leicester City.
