Gianluigi Buffon has backed Paul Pogba to become a leader at Manchester after signing for a record-breaking £89 million.
The Italy and Juventus captain played with the Frenchman in Turin, where Pogba spent four seasons in between his two spells at Man United.
His arrival at Old Trafford marks the start of Jose Mourinho’s era and there’s no doubt he’ll be at the heart of his new side.
Speaking about Pogba, Buffon claims the 23-year-old has shown him he has all the attributes of a leader.
“I’ve played for many different teams in my career and in all of them there were different ways to be a leader inside a group of players,” he said.
“At Juventus, for sure, Pogba was one of the leaders.
“Like he will be at Man United. How he is and how he will be even more with the French national team.”
Pogba left United as a youngster with plenty of potential, but has returned to the club as one of the best midfielders in the world.
The big personalities at The Old Lady would have undoubtedly helped his development as a player and now it’s time for him to pick up from where he left off in Manchester.
