Manchester United vs Hull City: EFL Cup semi-final – Confirmed teams

Manchester United XI vs Hull City: De Gea, Valencia, Jones , Smalling, Darmian, Herrera, Pogba, Mata, Rooney, Mkhitaryan, Rashford

Subs: Romero, Blind, Fosu-Mensah, Carrick, Fellaini, Lingard, Martial

Jose Mourinho has named a strong team for tonight’s EFL Cup semi-final against Hull City but the notable absence is certainly Zlatan Ibrahimovic who is not part of the squad.

Zlatan didn’t play against Reading in the FA Cup and is not in the squad tonight. Hopefully it is just to give him a rest rather than anything to do with an injury.

That team is strong and it’s clear Mourinho wants United to come out and put Hull under pressure right from the start. In an ideal world, United can kill the tie off against Hull ahead of the second leg in this semi-final but they will not make it easy – regardless of how stretched their small squad is.

Kick-off is at 8pm tonight and the game is live on Sky Sports.
