Zlatan Ibrahimovic absent from Man United’s clash against Hull City due to illness

Zlatan Ibrahimovic missed Manchester United’s EFL Cup semi-final with Hull City on Tuesday night due to illness.

He has been in spectacular form this season under Jose Mourinho, with his showings making him undroppable at Old Trafford as the club’s top goal scorer.

The big Swede was on the bench for Saturday’s FA Cup win over Reading and hopes are he’ll be fit for Sunday’s clash against Liverpool, where he has a vital part to play against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

Man United’s official Twitter account confirmed his absence prior to the game.

Before the Reading clash, Ibrahimovic had been included in every one of Mourinho’s squads this season, apart from the 1-1 draw with Arsenal when he was suspended.

He’s been indispensable for United, and it’ll be a massive blow for the team if he won’t be back in time for the fixture with Liverpool at the weekend in the Premier League.

Although Marcus Rashford has been playing well, the game against Liverpool is a massive chance for United to close the gap on the top four and there’s no one on the side better suited than Ibrahimovic to lead the squad moving forward.
